The ranking for the top 10 common causes of war conflicts is based from historical accounts and present events that happen throughout past and present history. Some of these occurrences can still be seen nowadays which heavily affected how people live on this generation. Knowing these causes may give you the idea on how to solve those issues.
1- COMPETITION FOR RESOURCES
This has something to do with supply and demand. When the demand for basic needs, opportunities is large and the supply of resources is scarce people will compete. This competition, most of times, leads to conflict. The conflict is also proportional to the discrepancy between the two factors. Examples of such are the civil wars in some African countries.
Many conflict arise from religion. Internal and external conflicts are recorded throughout history. The most rampant is between religions or external conflict. An example of this is the jihad wherein Muslims believe that they have been waging a holy war to fight for their faith against the Christians. Religion is the primary source of our values and our values basically reflect our identity. When this part our identity gets threatened we usually feel an impulse to protect or fight for it. At its worst case sometimes even through violence.
3- POLITICAL BELIEFS
People basically have different perspective of proper governance or politics. When two political parties cannot compromise or could not resolved their political differences through diplomatic ways they sometimes settle it through war. The use of physical strength is the final option. An example of which t is the war betweenSouth KoreaandNorth Korea. One believes in the discipline of communism the other prefer freedom in democracy.
Oppression which results loss of freedom could also result to war. An example of which is the war in South Carolina in United States or the wars waged to end slavery. Oppression by misuse of authority may also result to insurgency. Insurgency, by the way, is one of the elading causes of armed conflicts. Another example of this is the Edsa People Power Revolution. Some people if not most people then believed that their rights have been suppressed hence their organized a revolution.
People practice their right of suffrage because they believe that this will help in proper appropriation of resources among them. When corruption sets in the system, they feel that their rights are violated. This will lead to their loss of trust on elected authorities. When this leads to poverty, injustice, great inconvenience they will eventually revolt. It can also result into a civil war when the government authorities manage to get sufficient civilian support.
6- RACIAL DISCRIMINATION
Racial discrimination brings about biases and prejudices. Stereotypes among cultures create inherent hatred between races such as black Americans and Africans versus Caucasians /white race. Some hostile groups are even created against each other. An example of which is the KKK. Another example is the attempted genocide of the Jews by the German Nazis portrayed in the Schindler’s list.
Miscommunication usually leads to having either party misunderstood which may lead to conflict. There are several factors that favor miscommunication. One factor is the distance between communicating parties. Another factor is the differences in cultures and beliefs. The medium of communication is also a factor.
8- CONFLICT OF INTEREST
An example of this is the dispute between native and in coming settlers. This source or cause of conflict can be placed subordinate to previous cause of conflicts. An example of a situation where possible conflict may arise is when settlers in a certain place which sole interest is to keep their land are forcefully removed by the government. In this case the govern has a conflict of interest with the native settlers.
9- DESIRE OF UNIFICATION/DESIRE FOR AUTONOMY

On the other hand, some groups of people commonly those whose beliefs are different from the majority of the subjects of a central government desire to separate themselves and create a new form of government which they believe would address their common needs. This may also bring about armed conflict.
Propaganda is the willful deletion or removal of truth to bring about an image that is desired. A result of propaganda is deception.
