Probably you have been wondering which mammals have the highest sperm count. Consequently, you could be asking yourself where humans rank in the sperm count or any other kind of mammal in your mind. You will be able to find all that out in this top ten list of mammals with the highest sperm count.
Top on the list is the pig. Pigs have been found to have between 60 – 80,000,000,000 sperm per ejaculation. That is the highest in mammal history.
That is followed by the donkey which has the second highest sperm count of 14,400,000,000 sperms in an ejaculation. As if that is not enough, their distant cousins the horses follow suit at number three highest sperm count.

The horses have sperm count of 11,000,000,000 sperms per ejaculation. That makes the donkeys and the horses to be very close in their sperm counts. That is aside from the fact that they are closely related. However, that does not mean that interbreeding of their species can result into something good or better. That has actually been evidenced and proved by interbreeding programme that was conducted earlier on in history which actually produces a mule which is not that pleasing to consider as a pet or take care of.
At number four is the bull. Bulls have a sperm count of between 5 and 10,000,000,000 sperms per ejaculation. That is a fairly good number and may be the reason why bulls have the ability to mate as frequent as they want provided there is a ready cow that is in season.
At number five is a very aggressive mammal, the Zebu. It has a sperm count of 5,000,000,000 sperms in an ejaculation.
The numbers are closely followed by the buffalo which stands at position six with a sperm count of 3,400,000,000 sperms per ejaculation. All that this means is that as much as many have thought that bulls and buffalos share a lot and can be interbred, they actually are not that close together as their species are very different. They only seem to be similar in physical appearance but the anatomically study reveals different things even the DNA make up.
Seventh in the list is the ram. Rams have a sperm count of 3,000,000,000 in an ejaculation. The rate of sperm count is high and that is the reason they are considered to be at top 7th in this list.
That is a fair number which rivals that of goats which stands at position eight with 2-3,000,000,000 sperms per ejaculation. Therefore, goats and rams are close as far as sperm count is concerned. Maybe that now explains why their reproduction rate is also very high. The only thing to be explained IS HOW often they get the need for breeding which will not account for the rapid reproduction of both mammals.
At position nine is the dog which has a sperm count of 2,000,000,000 sperms per ejaculation. Dogs therefore have fitted perfectly in the top ten list of mammals which have highest sperms count.

However, it is the rhesus monkey that seals the top 10 list of mammals with highest sperm count with sperm count of 1,000,000,000 sperms pre ejaculation. Humans of course, comes at position 11 just incase you were wondering where they stand humans have sperm count of 200-500,000,000 sperms in an ejaculation.
